Amazing game! Thank you so much for sharing this. A classic RTS :')

l loved this game very much, the aesthetics, the straightforwardness. even the syndicate-esque voice samples.

what l'd really love is a browser based, multiplayer capable version, like krunker, so l could share the oldschool pwnage with my peers.

Just play Open RA then.

Oh my! This game is the BEST GAME EVER!! The best game on itch. After playing this, I once again started loving the RTS genre. I just spent hours looking for games like this, but this one is a gem! You have done a wonderful job, and we will support you!! Best of luck for your future projects :D

Sometimes, the units get stuck while moving them, but the epicness of the game overcomes this bug. So its a 10/10 from me :)

Thank you for your kind words, this is the first time in my 5 years as an indie dev that someone has made me cry!

One of the reasons I made it was because I shared your experience of not being able to find anything similar to classic RTS games on this site. It seemed nobody was interested in the casual aspects of old school RTS design!

Eudora was a little passion project I had to rush out, and much like our other project, Witchy Workshop, I knew there was a small audience that would feel the same love and passion while playing that I felt while creating. I've been having feelings of doubt lately about the direction and quality of my work and your comment has really made me feel good about myself. If I can make at least one person feel the way you have then I know I'm doing something right.

I'm currently working on the sequel which will probably take a while to come out. I'd like to do some kind of announcement post or behind the scenes art & tech journal on our blog or twitter when I'm closer to finishing.

As for the locked in features of the sequel... look forward to a level editor, campaign & skirmish mode, a new faction and hopefully a pathfinding system that doesn't lead to units getting stuck!!!

Please, use some existing library for pathfinding and save yourself some time :-)

I will definitely buy whatever comes next.

You deserve all the support.

Looking forward to get my hands on the sequel once it comes out.

Good Luck! :D

Really nice game!

There are a couple bugs on Linux:

Some units will get stuck and can not be ordered to go anywhere (however, they can still be selected, but do nothing effectively).

Path finding has issues, some units will try to find their path, but other (moving) units are also going the same way, so the first ones will just stop instead of waiting and then continuing in the path finding. This happens mostly in large groups.

Also another bug was that I was building units, but they were not found anywhere after finishing. I think this happened when I accidentally set the target for deployment to the building itself.

Thanks for the praise! And thank you for enjoying the Linux version!

I'm aware of most cases where units get stuck, this was my first time writing an A* routine so there was so much for me to learn hehe. Most of the pathfinding issues only show up for the player because the CPU will keep telling units to attack the player, so it was hard to pin everything down. The bug with the units going missing I wasn't able to reproduce, that's new to me. However there is a bug where if you place a production facility's exit on the bottom of the map, or against a terrain blocker, the produced unit will be out of bounds or stuck.

Well, never mind, I enjoy playing it anyway, those few bugs do not impact game that much. I resolved the factory units issue by selling and rebuilding factory.

HEYA! THIS IS AMAZING!

opl3 samples :-D

Awesome. Will there be a Linux version?

It looks like everything works properly as-is on the Linux target, so one is available now!

You're now being followed by a bunch of wild pinguins out there. Thx for the port!

That is extremly awesome! Do you plan to add Multiplayer sometime?

I am using Ubuntu 20 LTS and had to create some symlinks to match the specific library you used:

ln -s libcrypto.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcrypto.so.1.1
ln -s  libssl.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libssl.so.1.1 and launch it via: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./Eudora

You need to flip those arguments in the first two commands for it to work...

damnit, wrote these from memory. 20+ years of linux and i think i will never get the order right

It has the same argument order as cp that's how I remember it

No multiplayer is planned for this release because of the codebase not being built around it, but Eudora 2 is being built with multiplayer in mind so we'll see! We're glad you could get it working, thanks for posting that information.

Awesome. Have some money.

Bought because Linux. Great game, having loads of fun!

Also, will there be a version for Linux on arm? This on a Raspberry Pi would be so cool, under Raspbian. Pu tthis in PiKiss or Pi-Apps -- hundreds of players a day later.

It's technically possible but we don't have the hardware or the kind of experience we already had with the x86 Linux build process right now to say one way or the other. If we pick up a Raspberry Pi at some point we'll certainly give it a try.

This rules! I don't know how many hours I sunk into Dune II back in the day, but its one of my favorite games of all time. I read somewhere that you're working on a new/different project these days, but I hope to see you revisit RTS in the future, because this totally hits the nail on the head!

I liked it, I'll wait for the next updates.

This game's schway.  Very schway.  Like it.  Old-school DOS RTS's.  Nothing like 'em.
